Just a few weeks ago, Katy Perry confessed that she was ready to take her relationship with Russell Brand to the next level by taking his last name. Despite the amorous stage in her life, the pop star appears strong, bold and just a tad resentful after a breakup on the previously unheard pop-rock song "Part of Me," which surfaced on the Internet on Wednesday.

With reported production by pop mastermind Dr. Luke, the song has Perry declaring herself unbreakable after an ugly breakup, singing, "Days like this I want to drive away/ Pack my bags and watch your shadow fade/ 'Cause you chewed me up and spit me out/ Like I was poison in your mouth/ You took my light, you drink me down/ That was then and this is now, now look at me."

Similar to the pop star's hit single "California Gurls," the tune's steady beat amplifies as the chorus opens. "This is the part of me/ That you're never gonna ever take away from me/ Throw your sticks in the stones/ Throw your palms in your clothes/ But you're not gonna break my soul/ This is the part of me that you're never gonna ever take away from me," she sings.

"Part of Me" is rumored to be a leftover cut from the singer's Teenage Dream recording sessions. However, fans have speculated that the track may be included in a yet-to-be-confirmed re-release of the Grammy-nominated LP.

In addition to the new material, fans can rejoice in yet another Perry tune, "E.T.," as online reports have indicated that the futuristic song has been selected as the pop star's next single. Despite multiple live performances of the song, Perry took to Twitter to ask her legion of fans which track they'd like the singer to release next. "Thanks for all your great suggestions for the next single today!" she tweeted on December 13. "Your voice has been heard! We're on the same page..."

TMZ has obtained documents filed by Roc Nation, Willow's record label owned by Jay-Z.�� According to the docs, Roc Nation entered into a recording agreement with Spooky Girl, Inc. "for exclusive recording and entertainment services of Willow Smith."

Spooky Girl is Willow's company -- sort of.� You see, the Prez of Spooky Girl is Will, and Willow is listed as an "employee."

And it gets more interesting, because Jada Pinkett Smith is listed as Willow's guardian. Will can't list himself as a parent or guardian because it conflicts with his duties as president of Spooky Girl.� So legally speaking, Jada protects Willow from Will!

Contracts involving minors must be filed with the court.� But Will and Jada argued in legal docs that the Roc Nation contract contains "highly sensitive and confidential proprietary business and financial information."� So the Roc Nation contract was filed under seal, so no one could see how much money Willow is raking in.

Wasn't long ago that we found hard evidence of a WiMAX-capable MiFi from Novatel in the FCC -- and now, we might have the first press shot of it. Of course, press shots are always prettier than the actual devices, but even if you beat this image with the ugly stick for a minute or two, we're pretty sure it'd still be a good deal more handsome than the first-gen 3G MiFi that Sprint, Verizon, and others are using currently. No word on when this might launch, but with FCC certification under its belt, it's plausible that we'll see it next week at CES -- probably without the tipster's own professionally-Photoshopped status light below the battery indicator, we'd bet.

This is great news for the mom of at least one Engadget editor (who has been despairing at her inability to share e-books with Aunt Kathy). That's right: Amazon has enabled Kindle book loaning on select titles. Of course, there are caveats: books can be loaned only once, for a period of fourteen days. As you'd suspect, the loaned books can be read using the e-reader itself or the free Kindle app for any of your various devices (including iOS, BlackBerry, Android, PC, and Mac). While a book is being borrowed you can't read it yourself, and the publisher has the final word on which titles are eligible for lending. Exciting, right? At least as exciting as the opportunity to finally discover what The Secret Life of Bees might be.
